Google Photos: Memory Trail
Users often remember a moment but not its date, place or details, and stall when the first search fails. Using public-review analysis, a 31-response survey, six task-based interviews and live retrieval replays, I framed the core problem as recovery after a failed first search, then designed Memory Trail: an AI-native concept that keeps clues and near-matches so users narrow results without starting over. In a three-user seeded test, all three recovered their target after the first attempt failed; this is directional evidence, not proof of improved retrieval in real libraries.
